Charles Construction LLC is a general contractor dedicated to exceeding your building expectations. We establish one-on-one personalized service by effectively listening, designing, and building your project uniquely to suit your taste and vision.

History

Charles Construction Company was founded in 1981, by Ray Groff of Willmar, Minnesota. Ray and his wife, Nancy, owned and operated Charles Construction for 27 years. Since it’s inception in 1981, Ray’s son, Charles Groff, has been working for the company. Charles took over the operation upon Ray’s retirement, in 2008 and changed the name slightly, to Charles Construction LLC. Charles Groff was born and raised in Willmar. He graduated from Willmar Technical College with a degree in carpentry in 1986.

During his career, Charles has been in charge of each job site acting as foreman responsible for materials, employees, and the design and timelines of each project. He has a reputation of being a perfectionist. He continually takes classes to keep up with the changes in the industry. He is a Certified Lead Supervisor for homes built with lead from 1978 and earlier. He is also a Certified Window Installer.

Charles lives in Spicer, Minnesota with his wife, Lisa, and three children. He volunteers at his church, children’s school and in the community. Charles is committed to helping the area grow. He has been working with home construction for over 30+ years.
